This three-day course is an introduction to epilepsy evaluation and treatment using current neurophysiological, imaging, pharmacological, and surgical techniques. Lectures will be complemented and further illustrated by discussions of epilepsy cases.

This course is designed for adult and pediatric epileptologists, neurologists and neurosurgeons with an interest in treating patients with epilepsy.

The objectives of this event are:
- Recognize and classify the different clinical manifestations of epilepsy

- Identify EEG patterns characteristic of the various types of epilepsy

- Discuss the different molecular and pathological etiologies of various types of epilepsy

- Explain the role of genetics in the expression of epilepsy in humans

- Apply therapeutic strategies that are most effective for specific epilepsy types
