Associate Professor Anne-Christin Eliasson is an Associate Professor and Senior Research Occupational Therapist in the department of Neuropediatrics at the Karolinska Institute, Stockholm, Sweden. She is an internationally recognised researcher in upper limb motor control in both children without impairments as well as those with cerebral palsy. Dr Eliasson completed her doctorate in 1994 on “Sensorimotor control of human precision grip: Aspects of normal and impaired development”. More recently she has completed two comparative clinical trials of constraint induced movement therapy adapted to practical clinical settings; a day camp model in adolescents and a modified constraint induced movement therapy program in infants 18 months to 5 years. Dr Eliasson’s core interest is in the possibilities related to improving hand function through the use of different intervention approaches. Dr Eliasson’s work has relevance to clinicians working in both paediatric and adult fields

“We are delighted to welcome Dr Ann-Christin Eliasson (PhD OT) and Karin Shaw (PT) from the Karolinska Institute in Stockholm to lead a workshop on their experience of Constraint Induced Movement Therapy in Childhood Hemiplegia.
