This international symposium seeks to develop an integrated approach to childhood epilepsy. The major issues addressed will be behavioural and educational but with an emphasis on the neurological substate. The speakers will include Christopher Gillberg on assessment tools and autism, David Taylor on pseudoseizures, Eric Taylor on Symptomatic ADHD, Brian Neville on epilepsy and autism, Isobel Heyman on psychiatric aspects of a paediatric epilepsy surgery programme. In addition there will be a debate about the special educational needs requirements with senior political figures discussing how to develop policy in this area. We look forward to a day which approaches the most difficult issues faced by children and young people with epilepsy, their parents and their professional advisors.
Brian Neville
